Susan + Joseph

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

Susan and Joseph married in beautiful Lake Arrowhead, California where Susan and her family often vacationed when she was a child. It’s a picturesque and tranquil place nestled in the mountains and just perfect for Susan and Joe’s wedding. I loved their rustic, yet elegant theme and I have to say that their details were to die for! A big, huge thank you goes out to Jeff and Jonilyn for accompanying and shooting with me at their wedding. And as always, Kerrie of Platinum Weddings by Kerrie did an amazing job coordinating their wedding and I loved working with her.

Susan looked absolutely radiant on her wedding day.

And her bridesmaids looked gorgeous as well! How gorgeous are those indigo dresses? The color scheme was perfection.

And not to be outdone by the girls, the guys showed up looking like GQ models.

They say they’re volleyball players, but really, they’re models.

I love how sharp and clean the guys looked in their light colored suits.

And we can’t forget about the little ones in their coordinating outfits! How cute are they?

The paper fan programs and the gorgeous bridesmaid’s bouquets that just popped against their blue dresses.

Jeff got this amazing shot of the ceremony! While Jonilyn took the lovely detail shot of their place cards. How cute are the mini tree stumps? They’re so perfect for a wedding in the woods!

The little ones did such a great job!  The ringbearers carried the actual wedding bands down the aisle. Now that’s some responsibility! Jeff and I barely trusted my twin brother with our wedding bands. LOL!

Susan being walked down the aisle by her father.

One last kiss from Dad before he gives his daughter away.

I loved their rustic arch that overflowed with flowers.

I absolutely love this next shot as Susan and Joe are announced Mr. and Mrs. for the first time ever!

And then we snuck off for some portraits.

Susan requested a jumping picture and Jonilyn delivered with this shot! It got pretty rocky on the dock, but I’d say it was worth it!

Love these veil shots!

These two had all the time in the world to enjoy their new status as husband and wife!

I tend to make the groom carry the bouquet often to give my brides a little arm rest. Those things can get heavy!

Not only was Susan and Joseph’s cake stunningly beautiful and like nothing I’d ever seen before, it was also displayed on the perfect sized tree stump! So cute! I just about died when I saw it!

And the moss covered letters on the cake table were a nice touch too!

Jonilyn took some beautiful detail photos while I shot family formals.

They had a polaroid guest book station which is always a hit with the guests.

The party animals at the reception!

And then at the end of the reception there was a little surprise for everyone! We were all instructed to follow the bride and groom. Where could they be going at this hour, hm?

We were back on the candle lit dock…

As we all sent Susan and Joe off on their get away boat! How fun is that???

Sooz and Joe, thank you so much including me in such a beautiful, joyous, and important day in your lives. I loved working with you both and your family and friends were so warm and kind too. I have never had so many guests at a wedding come up to me to tell me how much they loved the engagement images I captured of you two in San Francisco. Thank you for sharing those with so many! And to a life time of joy and happiness to you both!
